About this class:
Make your crochet fabric come alive with texture, movement, and personality. In this hands-on class, students will explore a variety of textured crochet stitches and learn how to use them intentionally in their projects.

We’ll work through swatches featuring stitch families such as post stitches, bobbles, puffs, shells, extended stitches, crossed stitches, linked stitches, and single crochet variations. Students will learn not only how to make these stitches, but when and why to use them.

This class is about more than collecting stitch patterns. We’ll talk about how texture affects drape, structure, stitch definition, yarn choice, and the overall feel of a finished piece. Students will leave with a set of swatches, a stronger stitch vocabulary, and new ideas for adding texture to garments, accessories, shawls, and home decor.

Best for: Crocheters who are able to chain, single crochet, and double crochet confidently and ready to go beyond flat fabric.

Level: Intermediate

What you’ll need to bring to class:
DK weight yarn about 50 gms and an appropriate hook for dk weight yarn. Scissors. 4.5mm - 5.5mm crochet hook. Options are encouraged.

About the instructor:
Britt Garber of KnotBadBritt is a Seattle-based crochet designer and educator who loves helping crocheters have those “wait, I can actually do this” moments. Her classes are technique-rich, approachable, and rooted in understanding the “why” behind the stitch. Britt brings warmth, humor, and a little bit of yarn-friend chaos to the classroom, creating a space where crocheters can learn, experiment, and leave feeling more capable than when they arrived.
