Picture-Perfect Intarsia: No Bobbins, No Stress - Debbie Stoller - Sun. 8/2

Sunday, August 2

10:00-1:00, 3 hours

About this class:
Ever wanted to knit images right into your fabric, only to end up tangled in a mess of yarn ends and bobbins? Say goodbye to the frustration and hello to Debbie’s no-bobbin intarsia method!

In this fun, hands-on class, you’ll master intarsia the easy way while working on an adorable sheep motif. Learn how to create “infinity” yarn, seamless color transitions, and discover tricks to keep your work neat, tidy, and picture-perfect. No bobbins, no knots—just smooth, stress-free intarsia that looks like magic! Grab your needles and let’s bring your knitting to life!

This is an advanced beginner class: you should be very comfortable casting on, knitting, and purling.

Level: Intermediate

What you’ll need to bring to class:
Worsted-weight, smooth, 100% wool yarn (not superwash) in three colors: black, white, and green (or any other background color in a mid-range tone that will contrast with both the white and the black). Pair of US 8/5mm needles or whatever is appropriate for the yarn.

About the instructor:
Debbie Stoller is the author of the New York Times-bestselling Stitch 'n Bitch series of knitting and crocheting books. She loves teaching knitting and crochet, and is deeply interested in the way that needlework has woven its way through women's lives for centuries.

Debbie recently retired from BUST magazine, which she co-founded and where she served as editor-in-chief for 30 years, and holds a PhD from Yale in the psychology of women. These days, Debbie is obsessed with learning to spin. She lives in Brooklyn with her partner, 2 dogs, and way too much yarn.
