About this class:
Mosaic crochet creates bold, graphic colorwork using simple stitches and clever placement. In this class, students will learn the basics of overlay and inset mosaic crochet, including how to read mosaic charts, manage color changes, understand stitch placement, and create crisp geometric designs.

We’ll work through a small swatch together so students can see how the technique builds row by row. Along the way, Britt will share tips for keeping your work tidy, choosing colors with enough contrast, and understanding how mosaic crochet can be used in blankets, accessories, garments, and home decor.

This is a great class for crocheters who are curious about colorwork but want a technique that feels approachable, rhythmic, and satisfying.

Best for:Sstudents who are able to able to chain, single crochet, and double crochet confidently and are comfortable following written instructions.

What you’ll need to bring to class:
2 high contrasting colors of DK weight yarn 50 gms each, and an appropriate hook for dk weight yarn. Scissors. 4.5mm - 5.5mm crochet hook. Options are encouraged.

Britt Garber of KnotBadBritt is a Seattle-based crochet designer and educator who loves helping crocheters have those “wait, I can actually do this” moments. Her classes are technique-rich, approachable, and rooted in understanding the “why” behind the stitch. Britt brings warmth, humor, and a little bit of yarn-friend chaos to the classroom, creating a space where crocheters can learn, experiment, and leave feeling more capable than when they arrived.
