Hybrid Crochet (AKA Tunisian Crochet) - Kira Dulaney - Sat. 8/9

About the Class:

Delve into an entirely unique crochet technique which is easy for beginners and interesting for experienced crocheters! Hybrid crochet uses two passes to create a single row, building up stitches on your crochet hook, then working them off on the return pass. It creates a soft, squishy fabric and can look almost identical to knitting! We will try five different stitches for a variety of textures and techniques.

About the Instructor: Kira Dulaney has been teaching fiber arts classes and hosting crafty events since 2002. Kira’s teaching focus is on providing valuable information in a stress-free environment and supporting students through the learning process. She is also the designer behind Kira K Designs, a line of original knitting and crochet patterns and kits featuring clean lines and intriguing details that are both interesting to make and easy to wear.

Required Materials:

• 40 yards smooth worsted or aran weight yarn
• H or I crochet hook - this can be a long-handled Tunisian hook, a hook with attached cable, or a smooth-handled hook (no rubber grips) with a rubber band on the end.
