Fur and Loop : unlock fun stitches to be playful with your knitting - Cinthia Vallet - Sat. 8/1
Saturday, August 1
2:30-5:30, 3 hours
About this class:
When crafting animals and tiny garments, inventiveness is a great ally, and having fun is a must. This is why i spend quite lot of time browsing stitch dictionaries in search of new stitches to extend the possibilities and make knitting a playful moment.
With this workshop I welcome you to discover two fun stitches to add amazingly rewarding textures to your animals and their garments (and maybe yours of course if you scale up!). Most of the time, these stitches are perceived as tricky ones but they are not if you can see and practice them!
Discover the chain fur and the loop stitch: they are fun to make and as a bonus, they will invite you to slow down and take your time to create lovely knitted fabrics that you'll want to pet forever ! I used them for the hair of Forrest the bison (from my book Mouche and friends), the mane of Winston the lion (soon to discover in my next book) and Agi's vest, that everyone wants in its own size! Together, we'll swatch and discuss these fun stitches through a fun little hairy project.
Before the workshop in early July, you'll be invited to join a private online space where I’ll share with you how to get ready for the workshop and what you’ll need to bring.
Level: Intermediate
What you’ll need to bring to class:
Yarn and needles to knit these fun stitches, your usual knitting tool case
