Book Club Cardigan - Sari Nordlund - Fri. 7/31
Book Club Cardigan - Sari Nordlund - Fri. 7/31
Friday, July 31
2:00-5:00, 3 hours
About this class:
In the Book Club Cardigan class we focus on creating a beautifully textured, wearable garment with refined details.
During the workshop we will knit a guided cable swatch and break down the cable pattern step by step. The cables may look intricate, but they are built from simple, repeatable movements that quickly become intuitive. You will learn how to read the rhythm of the pattern so the texture feels natural rather than intimidating.
We will also explore the double knitted button band technique, creating a clean, structured finish that looks polished from both sides. In addition, we will discuss the cardigan’s construction, how the pieces come together seamlessly, and how the pockets are integrated.
This class is about understanding texture, structure, and finishing details so you can approach future cardigans with confidence.
The pattern is included in the class.
Level: Intermediate
What you’ll need to bring to class:
worsted weight yarn or a combination of sport weight yarn and mohair or suri, in a light, solid color with good stitch definition for swatching, needles suitable for your yarn and another set that is one size smaller than the one you would use for the cable pattern, a cable needle if preferred, stitch markers, tapestry needle, and scissors.
