Beyond the Basic Bind-Off - Sari Nordlund - Fri. 7/31
Friday, July 31
10:00-1:00, 3 hours
About this class:
Beautiful knitting deserves beautiful finishing.
In this technique-focused workshop, we explore the small decisions that make a garment or accessory look intentional, refined, and professionally made. The class focuses on clean edges and finishing methods that enhance drape and structure rather than distract from them. Techniques include tubular cast-on, tubular bind-off, provisional cast-on, grafting with Kitchener stitch, neat i-cord edges, and polished button band approaches. Beyond how to execute each method, we will discuss when and why to choose one technique over another, and how finishing affects the overall character of a piece.
Students will work on guided swatches and leave with a greater confidence in selecting finishing methods that elevate their knitting.
This class is best suited for advanced beginners to intermediate knitters who are comfortable with basic knit and purl stitches and working in the round.
