Beginning Spinning - Wendy Clark - Sat. 8/1
Saturday, August 1
10:00-1:00, 2:00-4:00, 5 hours
About this class:
You've seen those folks spinning fibers at show and you think "Oh, I'd love to learn how to do that!" but you don't have a wheel. Here is your opportunity to learn some basic spinning skills on wheels supplied by the instructor. At the end of the class, you will have an understanding of drafting wool fibers and go home with your first two ply yarn. This is a wonderful opportunity to try spinning before purchasing a wheel for yourself.
Level: Beginner
What you’ll need to bring to class:
None
About the instructor:
WeKare Farm and Fiber started in 2019 with two friends, Wendy and Karin. We have egg laying hens, meat chickens, and a small flock of Finn Sheep that we raise for fiber. We grow a large garden with vegetables, fruits, and dye plants. Wendy took her first spinning class in 2016 and was hooked! She began her Master Spinner Certification at Olds College in 2019 and will graduate in 2026. She teaches a variety of classes on spinning and fiber preparation but her first love is teaching beginning spinning. She teaches at local yarn shops in Olympia and Chehalis but also holds classes at the farm in the summer.
Please note - Marketplace tickets are not included in the class price and will need to be purchased separately.
In order to allow our instructors to prepare for their classes, we are not able to refund class purchases if your plans change. However, we are happy to transfer them if you find someone to take your place!
