Be the Designer: Side to Side Triangular Shawls - Lindsey Fowler - Sat. 8/9

About the Class:

In this workshop we will take a basic shape and learn to apply color, texture and some basic finishes to design the shawl of our dreams!
 
The side-to-side triangle provides the perfect formula for any weight yarn. We will discuss basic construction, edge treatments, the math behind the yardage, applying texture and ideas to customize. Worksheets will be provided to play and come up with design concepts. Students are to bring yarn and needles to knit a mini shawl prototype in class.

About the Instructor: Lindsey Fowler is known for her approachable knitting patterns, love for texture and fresh takes on old classics. Her hugely popular debut book, Salt & Timber, published by Laine Publishing in 2022, captured the essence of life by the coast. Trails & Valleys continues her journey, blending the rugged beauty of the outdoors with thoughtful, versatile knits for every adventure.

Required Materials:

• One of the following options: Fingering weight yarn (at least 25g) and size US 6 4.00mm needles (16-24" cord) OR DK weight yarn (at least 25g) and size US 8 5.00mm needles (16-24" cord)
• Snips
• Stitch Markers
• Optional: Stitch dictionary (some will be provided)
